Changing the calendar color (NOT the service Calendar)

Hi,

We're trying to find a way to show activities with different colors based
on a type field on the appointment itself in the regular calendar. Is there a
way to do this?

I know that you can change the color of the Service Calendar depending on
the status of the activity, but that's not what I'm looking for.

Any clues?
