All,

We are trying to install CRM 4.0 on Windows 2008R2 x64 with SQL 2008 SP1
running on a separate box. The SQL 2008 box is configured as two clustered
hosts hosting 6 SQL server "Virtual instances" - as such, each host has a
name (say HOST1 and HOST2) and the instance I'm trying to use is called
SQLPROD6 on a virtual machine name "SQLPROD6".

In SQL client, I simply connect to the name "SQLPROD6\SQLPROD6" and all is
well.
In CRM, if I do this I get the error "The instance name must be the same as
computer name" in the verification wizard.

So:

Does anyone know of any way around this please?
Or
Can I turn off the verification wizard?

MANY thanks for any help you can provide,

Mike

Hi Mike,

When you ran the CRM setup, did you choose to download the recent updates
from the web? I seem to recall this issue was fixed early on.
