Discussion:
Quick Campaigns never send mails, Status Reason is Pending

Hi,

I have a problem sending mail via a Quick Campaign (and Campaigns for that
matter).

Everything seems fine, but the Status Reason hangs with Pending.
I have no trouble sending a direct mail, so the Oulook interation seems to
work.

Installed the Email router, but that did not help a bit.

Any help is very appreciated :-)

Christian;

Are you the owner of the contacts that you emailing? there is a known issue
with CRM 4 that prevents campaign mail from being sent to contact for which
you are not the owner. To test it, create a campaign for 2 contacts, one
that you own, one that you don't. send the email, if the email is delivered
to your contact but not to the other contact, then this issue applies to
you.

The workaround is to do get yourself the "Send email as another user"
privilege, and that seems to get you past this.

Hi Dave,

I am owner of the records, so it can't be that :-(

Do you have another suggestion, the event log does not tell anything.

Thanks in advance :-)

On your user profile, what are your settings for Incoming and Outgoing
email? are they both set for Crm for Outlook?

Hello Christian,

Have you opened the email and does it say something like "this email has not
been submitted to send" etc.

I ran into a problem and the thing that helped me debgug was enabling trace
in CRM server. This tool helps looking at the traces easily
http://stunnware.com/crm2/topic.aspx?id=TraceLogViewer

Looking at trace, I found out that because my email router was configured
with SMTP server, the SMTP profile in IIS was not given enough space. I was
testing my application that sends mails with attachments from a quick
campaign or campaign activity. This was all in VPC on 2003 server in 4.0.
I suggest you also look at tracing.

Kind Regards
Ameed

Christian, did you ever figure this one out?

I'm having the same/similar issue:
-I created a campaign
-I created a campaign activity (email, targets 4 person marketing list)
-The E-mail Messages have a status reason of "Pending Send"
-I own the contacts, marketing list, campaign activity, and the campaign
-The campaign activity, however, has a status reason of "Completed".

Any suggestions?

I have been searching for a while on this issue.

Issue was only resolved when I check patches applied in Windows and noticed that whilst SRS & Router were at rollup 11, I had missed CRM rollup 11 on the same server, soon as this was applied and rebooted, all worked OK
