We successfully migrated our CRM 4 database from a SBS 2003 Server to a
dedicated member server. However we recently discovered that we are unable
to open any attachments or create new ones. They appear in the Notes
sections of the Accounts, etc... and in the Document section of the Sales
Literature but attempting to open one gives the error: Unexpected Error - an
error has occurred from a Sales Literature document or Access Denied:
invalid operation from a Note on an Account. These same errors occur when
attempting to save an attachmetn as a Document or a Note. Any information
you can provide on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

This message in it self does not contain any useful information to track down
the actual problem. The windows eventlog (application) should contain a more
detailed error message.

- may want throttle the servernames, lan account info when posting... just a
suggestion :)

I think it's an update rollup issue.

What update rollup are you on? Wouldn't be 6 would it? In the following
articles they recommend a re-install of ur 7, but I've seen a re-install of
ur 6 if you're on it fixes it too.

This one may be more helpful to you:

...but look at this one too!
