In CRM 4.0, when creating a Selection Rule for Facility/Equipment in the
Services module, "Capacity Required" is a mandatory field. I know that I can
put any number or ALL in the field just cannot leave it blank.

Is this the maximum number of hours or number of users at one time?

Can someone give me an example of how this is supposed to be used?

With thanks.

Capacity is a measure of how much 'skill'/'capacity' is needed. The
best example I can think of is a removalist. Let's say you have a
large move job service. It could take one large van or two small van.
Capacity allows you to specify two little vehicles or one large
vehicle is needed.

Thanks, Leon. I understand the concept. So, for the Service you cited, I
would put "2" in the Capacity Required field? The number 2 does not qualify
large or small van. Can I actually put "one large van or two small vans" in
the field?

If the service is a big job, you'd assign it a value of two in the
selection rules. A large van would be assigned a value of two and a
little van a value of one.

Howver, yes you could also abandon selection rules and pick one from a
large van resource group or two from a small van resource group I
believe.

Is this Capacity the same Capacity in the weekly schedule?

Is the following correct?
A large van is available 9 hours in a day as set in the Weekly Schedule. The
removal service will take 4 hours, the Capacity Required when setting the
Selection Rule is .5.

I appreciate your patience with all my questions.

I'm not sure where you're seein the capacity in the weekly schedule.
Availability should really be set via the work hours for the resource.
Let's say a standard removal van can store the contents of 2 bedrooms
and a lrge can handle three. You could encode this information in the
capacity and have services such as '2 bedroom apartment', '3 bedroom
apartment' and then use the capacity numbers to allocate the
appropriate number of vehicles.
