Is there a way to tie a lead source to a current account? Say one ofo our
clients reffer a potential client to us, we would like to link that client to
the potential client via the lead source. Or is there a better way to do
this?

any help is greatly appreciated.

hi TC,

When converting a lead to an Account the original LeadId is saved in
the Account using the field originatingleadid (lookup to Lead entity),
this will give you a one to many solution.

Hope this will help

It seems like you want to add a custom REFERRAL lookup field to your
lead of type ACCOUNT, as I'm pretty sure the LEAD SOURCE attribute is
free text. By ensuring this is propagated through to business closing
you should be able to achieve your aims???

Hi Chris,

Yes this is what I am trying to accomplish. We would like to track the
current customers that refer potential customers. Do you know of a way to
get the account list to link ot the Lead (referral) source?

Thanks.

Create a new N:1 relationship on LEAD called REFERRAL pointing to
ACCOUNT.
Use a custom multiple description label called 'Referrals' and choose
to add it to the Sale section.
Add this lookup field to the main LEAD form.
Now open an account and view the new associated view under Sales
called Referrals.
You can add links to leads here or through the lookup on your main
lead form.
Is this what you need?
