Report on cases and activities by user

Greetings,

I'm trying to find a way to display a report or view that will show
all case and task activity, by user. I see where the task entity uses
it's own owner field, while the case has a different field. I can run
a report with both entities, but I can't find a way to group by user
name. Any pointers?

Hi Keith, could you clarify what type of help you'd like?

The only way to compile a list of cases and tasks together in the same
report would be to write a custom SQL Reporting Services (SRS) report.

Unfortunately, all CRM views and the CRM Report Wizard can only be used to
build lists of a single entity type (e.g. cases OR tasks, not both).

Are you familiar with writing SRS reports for CRM? The SDK is a good place
to start: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb955081.aspx.
