hi

I have created a test campaign and it has a marketing list of 5 contacts
attatched to it. When i create a campaign activity of type phonecall /email
or letter and click on distribute campaign activity no activites are created.
Can someone please advise me what i might be doing wrong.

Cheers

There is an area in the Campaign Activity screen which lists Failures where
Microsoft CRM failed to create a Phone Call or other tyoe of Activity. This
list of Failures should hopefully help explain why the Distributed Activities
are not been created.

Hi Paul

I do not see anything under the failures either that is why I am so lost -
nothing happens at all after i click the distribute campaign activity button.

Look forward to some guidance.

First thing I'd check is whether the User who is running the Distribution has
valid Security Permissions to Create Activities and Read the 5 Contacts, as
well as priviledges for 'Campaign', 'Quick Campaign' and 'Marketing List'
entities as required.

Also check that the Marketing List is listed in the 'Target Marketing Lists'
area of the Campaign Activity.

If neither of these seems to be missing, the following steps might help to
shed further light on what might be causing the problem.

If your using CRM 4, browse to the 'System Jobs' area and check the list of
automated tasks that MSCRM has completed to see if there is any reference or
error concerning the non-distributed activities.

For either CRM 3 or CRM 4, check the Appliaction Event Log on the CRM Server
to see if CRM has raised an error regarding why the Activities have not been
created.

Fingers crossed, one to the above steps will give us an idea where the
problem is coming from.

Hi Paul

The user has admin rights. I have checked the system jobs area of CRM and
the job status shows as waiting for resources.

I did some research and it said to restart the microsoft asynchronous
service. tried that too but no luck :(

any other suggestions...

BTW, i also have another post on marketing list - send on behalf..would
appreciate your feedback on that.

It appears that the Asynchronous Service is not doing its job properly - I
presume it restarts okay but may well be raising an error in the Event Log to
indicate that it is not running correctly, I'd check the Log to see if this
is the case.

Hello Paul,

We have the same problem. No campaign activities are created. We tested it several times.

In the system job log We see that the jobs:

Type: Activity Propegation
Name : MyPropagateByExpression BulkOperation

Has the status Reason "Waiting".

Did you find a solution for this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Myke
