Post by SyedDears,
Can we restrict users not to see some cases e.g. Financial related cases
should be available ONLY for Finanance Team Members not for others.
Currently all Users can see All Cases. is there any way to give restriction
on unit basis.
I am using CRM 3.0.
Your early response will be much appriciated.
Regards,
Syed.
Syed,
There are a couple of ways to accomplish this goal:
1) Create a new business unit, and move all of the finance team
members into it. Modify the role permissions for all non-finance team
members to give them read (and write, etc.) access ONLY to those cases
in their business unit. As long as the case is assigned to a finance
team member, only finance team members will be able to see it. (You
may need to adjust role permissions for both the finance team members
and non-members to get this to work, but this is the most straight-
forward approach.
2) In CRM 3.0, you can share views with teams. (Note: in 4.0, for
some inexplicable reason, this capability was removed.) But to do
this, you could
a) Create a finance team, and move all finance team members into it.
b) Share all existing views with the finance team only. (This lets
you essentially "hide" the unmodifiable system views like "All Cases"
from all users.)
c) Create new views with filters that do not show any that are
assigned to anybody on that finance team. (I think you'd have to
explcitly add each finance team member to the filter - i.e., Create
"Non Finance Cases" view, and the filter is "Not Assigned To any
member of the finance team"...
