Exchange rate to trans currency money fields

That's simply not how it works.

Your base currency is currency A, this is usually the currency your
company operates in, reports accounts in, pays taxes in etc.
You do a quote in currency B to quote a customer for something in their
own currency. CRM calculates how much this quote for two thousand
Altarian dollars is worth in your base currency and stores that value at
the current exchange rate, This allows you to quote a price the customer
understands and can compare in his market, you get the base value to us
when accounting for the figure later on.

I can see that in some cases you might be trying to keep a fixed price
in your base currency (especially if you do a cost+ model), and then
convert to whatever the local currency is on the quote, but you can't do
that.
It makes sense if your quote is in your own currency that it says so,
even if it shows a local price at current rates for convenience. I
remember a special bid price I was helping to organise for a major bank
to buy 15" TFT screens for their trading floors (this was in about 1998,
so this was new technology back then!). The manufacturers would only
quote in their local currencies (Yen and Won, IIRC), as this was to be a
fixed price for thousands of units over several months, and a currency
fluctuation could have wiped out all the slim margin.

You may need additional "local currency" attributes and a plugin to help
you here if this is really the road you want to go down.

Hi all,
Standard CRM applies the exchange rate fluctuations to CRM money base
fields(_base) but not to the trans currency money fields which are displayed
on q quote or any other forms.
my requirement is the exchange rate has to be applied to trans currency
fields.
Ex: when i revise my quote, the quote has to be revised with latest currency
exchange rate.means the displayed money field values on a quote should get
update with exchange rate.
Is it possible? pls help me out if there is any way of doing it either
through plug-In etc.
