Mailmerge template

When starting any mailmerge from the CRM webclient, a default .dot file is
used to run the required mailmerge macro's. This file is located on the CRM
server \Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics
CRM\CRMWeb\_static\Tools\MailMerge\CRMTemplate.dot

After selecting an entity template in CRM, Word starts and the user has to
perform the Word mailmerge "steps" to complete the document. I have changed
the CRMTemplate.dot file so that these steps are automated. This results in
the user starting the merge from CRM, Word opening and immediatly completing
the merge (instead of the user having to click a number of times in Word).

Now, this only works from the webclient. I noticed that when starting a
mailmerge from the same entity from the Outlook client, the CRMTemplate.dot
doesn't seem to be used.

Anyone have an idea on how to change this or if there is some local .dot
file that is used when running a CRM mailmerge from the Outlook client??

Hi, Can you tell me the changes you made to automate the template?
