Need more help with email router - installation failed

Hi again.

I'm doing a test setup of the email router, and the installer failed with
the following error message:

"Action Microsoft.Crm.Setup.Exchange.GenerateEncryptionKeyAction failed.
Method not found: 'Boolean
Microsoft.Crm.ApplicationConfig.IsFederalInformationProcessingCompliant()'"

Aside from being a bit spooky (IsFederalInformationProcessingCompliant ?),
does anyone have any ideas what that could mean and how to fix the problem?
This is using CRM 4.0, and I did let the installer download all the updates.

TIA,

Hi,
I faced the same error.
In my case i tried to repair the email router , but it didn't work.
I have uninstalled the Email router and then restarted the
Microsoft Exchange services and Email router installation was successful.

Hi,
Do you need Exchange to install the email router if you just want to relay
messages to your SMTP server? I don't need CRM to get messages from our mail
server, which is Lotus Domino. Just relay emails to the SMTP server.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi ,

You do not need exchange to install the email router and send smtp mail.

You said the installation failed - what was the error?
