Discussion:
Remote users and CRM

I have some remote users that connect to my network through a PPTP VPN. We
recently moved CRM 4.0 from one server to another to increase its
performance. Some of the remote people are reporting that the link the
consultant gave them to access CRM doesn't work. The link is
http://Servername or just the local IP address of the server.

I checked with the people in the DNS newsgroup and they said to use the
FQDN. I told the user to try this and it worked. However, she said it was
slow. This can be network traffic though.

My question is, is there a specific URL that a user should use to access the
CRM server and start CRM? It seems to me that just specifying the server
name or IP address isn't enough.

Thanks,

John

I asked the consultant about using http://servername:5555 and he said it
wasn't necessary. I'll have my remote user test that.

Thanks,

John
