Workflow - no First name for Case Contact
(too old to reply)

,Hi,
I have set up a new workflow which creates an email to the customer related
to a Case. It works, but the slug I entered to populate the Customer First
Name on the greeting ("Dear XXXX") does not work.

The contact has a first name but it doesn't flow through to the Case's
workflow email. Other slugs work fine.

Can someone advise me? Thank you!

Hi Laura;

If you edited and published the w/f using IE8, that is your problem. Find a
machine that still has IE7, edit your w/f and replace the dynamic fields.
Then publish again using IE7 and it will likely work. This is a known
issue, and we're all anxiously awaiting a fix from MSFT.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your response, but this workstation is still on IE 7.

However I think you directed me to the answer. I remembered: a few weeks
back, I modified the Case to add the Responsible Contact... that is not the
same as Contact and I think that is my error.

Best,

that is exactly the problem. I have the same problem too. The only way I know of to get around is create a custom email to send. Looking for other solutions I dont change and create all those emails.
